🗽 VGW Pulls Out of New York

Another major shift: VGW (the parent company of Chumba, LuckyLand, and Global Poker) has officially pulled out of New York. We’ve seen this coming—VGW was one of the last few operators still active in the state. If VGW handles this exit the same way they handled all other state exit it means writers in NY will be prioritized for credits. It’s important that if you are affected that you are checking on your sweeps balance daily. Stay on top of it and make sure you Convert to Redeem!

🗓️ Important VGW/NY Deadline:
If you’re in NY and have Sweeps Coins, make sure you convert before July 2nd, 2025. After that, you won’t be able to play the games—which means no way to redeem your coins.

Behind-the-Scenes Processing:
Even though we haven’t seen credits hit, there’s a strong chance Modo is still processing entries behind the curtain—just not releasing credits until things are sorted.

🗓️ Important Deadline for Arizona Residents:
If you’re in Arizona, June 23rd, 2025 is your last day to convert any credited Sweeps Coins before Modo fully exits the state. After that, you will no longer be able to play or redeem.

There’s been a surge in state-level efforts to regulate or ban online sweepstakes casinos. Here's a clear breakdown of where each state stands as of May 24, 2025:

✅ Already Decided

Montana
- ✅ Ban Passed & Signed Into Law
Governor signed SB 555, effectively banning sweepstakes casinos without naming them directly. This makes Montana the first state to fully enact a ban in 2025.

❌ Bills Did Not Pass

Florida, Mississippi, Arkansas, Maryland
-Legislation introduced earlier in the year failed to move forward in these states.

⚠️ Active Bills Still in Play

These states have bills that are still alive in their legislative sessions:

Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Nevada
– Bills remain active
– Most sweepstakes platforms have already restricted access in these states
– If passed, bills would formalize restrictions already seen in practice

Louisiana
– Bill has unanimously passed the Senate
– Set for its first House committee hearing this week
– Notably, most platforms are still operating here—so this could lead to new restrictions if passed

Illinois
